I cannot say enough good things about Nalani and her team. Wow. I had been looking for someone in the area who specialized in Organic practices for Fruit Trees and edible landscaping for quite sometime, only to be met with large companies who use tons of fertilizer and pesticides. One day I came across Fruitmommy's site and felt like all my prayers had been answered. She is truly is a wizard, as well as an educational powerhouse. She is not just an expert in fruit trees, she also knows an exceptional amount in regards to our local San Diego climate, soil/water PH, and how that effects growing things here/why things may have a tendency to struggle, etc. Nalani was able to troubleshoot and figure out what each of my trees (fruit and non-fruiting) needed. Over the past year of working with Nalani, she has brought my entire yard back into harmony. Over the course a few months Nalani and her team we were able to execute and very efficient plan to nourish my trees with nutrient dense plant superfoods, help restore the soil, properly prune everything correctly (yes this is a real art), and dial in the water schedule (my bill is way down!). I am happy to report my trees are thriving, radiant and healthy. They have never looked better, and trust me it feels like since the day they were planted they have always struggled and never looked that great. I am so pleased all of this was done with regenerative farming practices in mind, using natural organic remedies and an all natural approach. Working with Nalani and her team, I have learned so much (BONUS!) in regards to the ongoing maintenance that is required to keep my trees, plants and garden thriving. I no longer feel intimated by my yard, I feel empowered and armed with the right tools to handle any situation. I know Nalani is always a call away to answer any questions I may have. If you have the chance to work, in any capacity, with Nalani and the Fruit Mommy team, do it.  Her expertise about trees and plants as well as the particular variables each property owner deals with regarding soil quality, nutrients, bugs, micro-climates and water, she can asses what’s wanted and needed in any situation. She helps educate you if you’re interested or happy to just come and work her magic. In addition, to her expertise, she has an unending commitment to you and your property thriving and having it work for you within your lifestyle-wether you’re someone who loves to be out in the garden and taking care of your trees, or want her to come and take care it of all for you. Her unending commitment doesn’t stop there, she takes into organic earth-sustaining gardening practices and even has come up with a special organic formula that is unmatched in its results.  If you have existing fruit trees and shrubs you would be amazed at what she sees is wanted and needed to have them flourish even more and if you don’t and want to, but have been daunted by the task, she can help you plan what you buy and where to plant them and help you take care of them.
We truly could go on and on about the difference Fruit Mommy has made in having our dream of an urban oasis, and orchard in the city. We would not be enjoying all the delicious fruit and yard we now are without her helping us every step of the way.

"We had a severely neglected tangerine when we purchased our home several years ago. Upon researching many tree care services, just for pruning, we realized Nalani would be the most economical.  However, we soon realized that Nalani puts into her services a level of care, attention and education that I would be shocked if other tree services provided. Our tangerine tree is in much better condition and in collaboration with Nalani, we've planted 6 more fruit trees in our backyard.  For three years now, we look forward to every year the annual event of Nalani coming over, checking on our trees, pruning them and teaching us and our children how best to take care of them. Our young children love to help her and learn so much from her teaching and interacting with them. "I can not recommend Nalani enough! She saved our lemon and lime trees after we nearly killed them by damaging the roots. I had heard incredible recommendations and contacted her for help. They were all right! She is absolutely amazing! She met with me immediately to drop off her rapid response fertilizer and instructions on emergency care for the trees. Within a few days, they greatly improved. The leaves stopped dropping, perked up, and the trees lost less water. Several weeks later, I have new leaf growth! 

I scheduled a home consult with her & was amazed by her breadth of knowledge! She gave me so much information about my entire landscape and existing garden. I received suggestions for not only fruit trees but many other edible/ornamental landscaping ideas for our entire property. Nalani noticed we have many tropical plants. She inquired about our favorite fruits. Then gave me a list of the best varieties to plant in San Diego, along with planting instructions. 

She observed a few other issues affecting my trees such as mold & sucking insects. I received instructions on how to best care for it organically with a natural & ecofriendly solution. I really appreciate this because we really want to eat and grow food safely for the environment and my family. In just a week, they are pest/disease free. I have been gardening for nearly 15 years and learned so much in just one hour from her. I am so happy with her service and value of information.
